• Establishment of a 200-Bed Super Specialty Hospital: In September 2024, Bhagalpur witnessed the inauguration of a 200-bed Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) within the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMC) at Barari. Constructed at a cost of ₹200 crore, this facility spans 5 acres and is strategically connected to major highways NH-80 and NH-31 via Vikramshila Setu. The SSH offers advanced medical services, including cardiac surgeries, pediatric heart care, preventive cardiology, kidney transplants, joint replacements, eye transplants, and cancer treatments. This development aims to serve not only Bhagalpur but also neighboring districts such as Naugachia, Begusarai, Khagaria, Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Forbesganj, and Madhepura.
