- The technology is called “Nano-hydroxyapatite-based porous polymer composite scaffolds for bioactive molecule delivery in musculoskeletal regeneration.”

GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FOR ORTHOPAEDIC PATIENTS IN INDIA
- Under a special provision in the drug pricing law that allows the government to intervene in extraordinary circumstances in the public interest, nearly 70% cost is slashed keeping the knee implants in the range from Rs 54,000 to Rs 1.14 lakh which is lower than the current knee implant cost surgeries.
- The standard, widely used cobalt chromium in knee replacement surgery will now cost Rs 54,720 as against an earlier MRP of Rs 1,58,324.
