HEALTHCARE SCENARIO OF GIZA

HEALTHCARE INSIGHTS

• Prime Minister’s Inspection of Healthcare Facilities: In November 2024, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli conducted an inspection tour of healthcare facilities in Cairo and Giza.
• Dismissal of Giza Health Director: In August 2024, Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar dismissed the Giza health director following a tragic incident at Shabramant Central Hospital.
• Giza Systems’ Entry into Healthcare: Giza Systems announced a strategic partnership with eHealth during the Africa Health ExCon 2024.
• A cross-sectional survey conducted between March and December 2021 in three slum areas of Giza Governorate, assessed the prevalence of chronic diseases among 3,500 adults. The findings revealed that self-reported chronic diseases among adults aged 18 and older ranged from 16.3% in Zenin to 22.6% in Bein El Sarayat.
