Kumasi is a city in south-central Ghana, serving as the capital of the Ashanti Region. It is the second-largest city in Ghana. Kumasi is situated in the southern part of Ghana, approximately 270 kilometres north of the national capital, Accra. It lies in the forest zone of Ghana, surrounded by lush greenery and hills, making it one of the more scenic regions in the country. Kumasi has a population of 4,036,000 people, making it one of the largest cities in Ghana. Kumasi is home to several hospitals and medical centres, including Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), which is one of the largest and most important hospitals in the country. • The City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) has expanded its Readiness for Access to Cancer Medicines Programme to Kumasi.
• A comprehensive imaging development plan has been created in collaboration with local stakeholders to enhance access to diagnostic imaging services in public hospitals.

1. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: The prevalence of macrovascular complications of T2DM is 31.8%, while microvascular complications occur in 35.3% of T2DM patients.
2. Venous Thromboembolism: A postmortem study at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi found that VTE cases accounted for approximately 1.7% of all autopsies performed between 2009 and 2016
3. HIV: The Ashanti region accounts for 76,672 of the PLWH population in Ghana
4. Hypertension: The prevalence rate of high blood pressure in Ghana is estimated at 30-40%.
