  • The establishment of Hyderabad Pharma City, a pioneering smart ecosystem set a new standard for sustainable industrial cities, has been taken on by the State Government.
  • After opening a top-notch manufacturing facility in Genome Valley, the major Swiss pharmaceutical company Ferring Pharmaceuticals has started operations in Hyderabad. For this facility, the company has spent about 30 million euros ($31.3 million). The majority of the state’s total merchandise exports are pharmaceutical exports. State exports of pharmaceutical products totalled $4.66 billion revenue in FY22.
  • According to State government data, over the past year Hyderabad has drawn investments totalling almost Rs. 7,500 crore (US$ 965.25 million) in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device sectors.
  • In the life sciences sector, there were 311 investment proposals worth a combined Rs. 6,734.56 crore (US$ 919.43 million). Additionally, Hyderabad is responsible for about 20% of all pharmaceutical exports from India. MAJOR LIST OF GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS

  1. Niloufer Hospital for Children, Hyderabad: Established in 1953, has 1200 beds, four ultra-modern operation theatres. Spread over 25,000 square feet of space on the fifth floor of the intensive care block at Niloufer Hospital. The intensive care block was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 67 crore.
  2. Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad: Established in 1961 and has around 3500 beds, campus is spread over 23 Acres with the built-up area of more than 600000 lakh sq. ft. The hospital provides a wide range of medical services to the population.
  3. Government Chest Hospital, Hyderabad: Established in 1888 and has 670 beds, campus is spread over 62 Acres. It serves as a prominent healthcare facility in the Hyderabad and provides medical services.
